The Companion uses a powerful PDA and the high specification SJ5287 GPS unit, with Netropa IntelliNav navigation software linked to Navteq mapping data.
Pre-loaded on a 256mb card, the UK mapping covers; England, Scotland, Wales, Northern and Southern Ireland, The Isle of Man and The Channel Islands.
The system is fully transportable from car to car, and when tested with vehicles that other systems had required the use of an external aerial,
the Companion worked faultlessly.
The GPS receiver comes with a Nokia style LiPolymer battery to power the system for up to 10 hours in hand held mode.
